Why doesn't someone try to put some other business downtown? I seems like the city should be promoting it more. Instead everything seems to be going out by the highway.
Maybe Foy could do something else besides Halloween stores, like a coffee shop or something.

Because we are now living in a society that wants a huge superstore that has everything under one roof.
I like small town square type places where you can walk around the different shops.
Didnt' they used to have a doughnut shop there? is that gone now?

Didnt' they used to have a doughnut shop there? is that gone now? Now see.. that is proof that many people in this town have no idea what is in downtown Fairborn other than Foy's. I love the Foy's stores but there is not enough to choose from when browsing the shops down there. Between the mall and all of the "crap" bring built around 675 half of the shopping areas in Fairborn are almost empty. I would love to open some kind of business in downtown Fairborn that would attract more people to the area. Any suggestions? ;D

Well there are some spots downtown that people don't know about, but thats a marketing problem ;D When you think of downtown Fairborn, Foy's and Bookery Fantasy come to mind, mainly because of their size. Here are a couple ideas: - Bring back Baskin Robins, or some other ice cream place. - And mabye a coffee house type of place. Not sure what, but something to bring people downtown on sunday mornings. But I'm not sure that just having the stores will revitalize the downtown area. I think more special events (i.e. sidewalk events, fairs) will bring people downtown.

You're right that there are places in downtown Fairborn that people don't notice. NewsReaders is an excellent example of a local business that is ignored by many residents. Not to mention one of the only stores down there that is open until 9pm. Even the employees there will tell you that most of downtown "rolls up the sidewalks" after 6pm. I think a coffee shop, a cyber cafe or the return of Baskin Robbins would be great!

I love downtown Fairborn but I do get the feeling that the City doesn't always support it like they should. They seen to be more interested in what is going on out on 675.

We have some great new shops coming to Fairborn. The streets are busy with contractor's and clean up crews. I invite everyone to walk Main Street and see our new shops.

Hi everyone. I just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Wade and I'm one of the owners of Signatures Coffee. We just opened last week in Downtown Fairborn. Please come down and say hi! :-) I've read where several people have posted that downtown needs a coffee shop, and here it is!
