Yesterday my daughter sent me the address of a web site that asks 11 questions about political issues and then lists the presidential candidates in order of how closely you agree with them. Several people in my office and my family members took the test. Some of us were pretty surprised at the results but I had a few other observations. I personally have been a John Edwards fan since the last election but found him 4th on my list. One of my republican friends has always considered himself to be very conservative was most closely aligned with Rudy Gulliani and John McCain. One of my daughter's friends who everyone agrees is very liberal and very democrat had republicans for his first three picks. What surprised me the most though was how many people that I watched take the test had no knowledge of the issues. They didn't now what Bush's tax cuts were or what privatizing Social Security meant, were not familiar with universal health care or had no stance on immigration. This is such an important time in our nation's history. The next president will have so many challenges. Do your homework. Learn the issues. Decide which issues are the most important. Think about who can lead us. And Please,,,,Go Vote! That web site: www.wqad.com/Global/link.asp?L=259460
