Al Info. Facade Program Came about quickly this year DFBA Asked for & City devloped program looks to be well received if [projects go well , expect more facade march 2009 What this program is or will be is too long to type ot explain hear:
Get on list at DFBA or City about Facade Meetings
Strreets and Curbs Sidewalks "Main St. area "
Main St. has been scaped and repaved so many times it is bermed in the middle" Mound Shaped" Also the grade of the paving needs changed back to its original or close to it ,so water flows to a storm sewers the city is or may be working on a plan for this when this done sidewalks and curbs will be done first then street $ timetable and other problems exist too!
D.F.B.A. name change Downtown Fairborn Business Association is now "Downtown Betterment Association" Why? We are growing past a handful of Bus, Owners and getting a lot more Dontown advacates involved too! Think " Main Street usa" and Heriage Ohio check out these on the web they have web sites They have a lot of stuff that I think will help downtown
Is Broad st or ..... being ignored? DFBA is going to Focus on our front door Its wear us out doing this at times
The DFBA knows as so goes Broad st. and Kaufman so goes Downtown Anything we do we will share with other groups Too! They will end up being mostly the same persons too!
visitfairborn .com is also under works check it out too
All this is Al's opinion post Replys

While not downtown business related, the new housing development on Y.S./Fairfield Pike, "Waterford Landing" is a concern to some of us.
Fairborn is full of unsold homes and property values in many neighborhoods are declining and here we have another sub-division with roughly 500 new "high end" homes being built?
Retail space too? What's wrong? Will Fairborn need another empty strip mall in ten years or so?

The logic is:we are losing Home sales to other areas such as beavercreek I know of some who bought in b/c because we could not meet thier need for high end homes big home = big tax break in amer. Also high end home owners should help tax rev. also good for schools....... Mid priced housing slump is a real concern Increase demand is needed How School sytem improvement is of highest importance not talk, not more tax, not more raises , not rock throwing Is it possible for this to happen? /? This is scarry to me! Have cool downtown! Buy into freindly small town comminity Promote WSU & WPAFB user location friendly I agree Retail space needs to be a low priority till current spaces are filled or redeveloped Thanks for Caring & repling Ps I cant type for crap
