I'm not sure what kind of spam you mean. Maybe the problem is on your end. Maybe you need better anti-spam software.
But spam is a growing problem.

I was happy to get on line this morning and find a place to blog my thoughts. I entered my story "Burning of the Flag", and now I feel much better. I never knew this site existed, I think it is a great way for a community to come together. Good job!

I have just a slightly different take on the problem. I think there is just a general lack of respect in this country. We see it on TV, we see it in schools, we see it in Washington. We see it in kids and adults. We have got to start respecting each other; our property, our opinions and our differences.
I really think it's a basic problem in this country.
Jeff

I have lived in Fairborn since 1991. Hubby and I are military retirees now. I just discovered this board today and have enjoyed browsing the threads. Good job on keeping things current, Jeff. Is this board advertised anywhere on bulletin boards or in the Herald? I would love to see more participation. I liked reading the comments about downtown Fairborn, suggestions for restaurants and businesses, etc. The board for alumni looks promising and it seems that some folks have already relocated some old friends. Will bookmark and try to stimulate some threads myself. Thanks to webmaster Jeff

Thanks for the kind words. Tell your friends about us and spread the word. Most of the efairborn.com exposure has been by word of mouth.

Could anyone help me find Toyia Longworth? Last known address was 1555 Superior Ave.. It is very important that I contact her. VERY INPORTANT! If found give her my E-mail frdlammert@yahoo.com, or contact me at same address. Thank you all so much.

Jeff - Thanks so much for your website. I love it! It allowed Gary Cross to get in touch with Melvin and me after many years. Just wanted to let you know that after this site was responsible for our reconnecting and much e-mail later, Gary's sister called recently and informed me that he passed away in August of 2007 after we only talked for less than a year. He had a bad heart and that was the reason he died. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for giving us a little time to reconnect. He was a great kid as we knew him, and enjoyed talking to him after he grew up. Keep connecting friends, Jeff. Thanks. Pam

Hi Jeff,
I have lots of thanks to give you about your website. I got to it via Pam & Melvin when I called to tell them that my brother, Gary Cross, Park Hills 1974 class, died August 2007. Thanks to Pam for posting that info on e.Fairborn. Just wanted to know if there was anyone else out there who knew & had reconnected with my brother. I found photos of Pam, Melvin, & Beverly Koogler in his "important" files of stuff. Phone number I got off internet for Bev isn't right number. Can anyone help me? Thanks, too, for providing Gary a place to reconnect with his old friends. I read his postings on your site & I am so very grateful that he had a way to get in touch with others. I miss my brother so very much.
Thank you. Charlene Cross

Charlene,
I was so sorry to hear about your brother. I exchanged quite a few emails with Gary starting about 2005. He seemed to be big fan of my web site. I received regular comments both good and bad. :<) He also usually mentioned Pam and Melvin. I know he was very fond of both of them. If you have any old Fairborn photos I'd love to have copies. I'm always looking for new additions. I don't have any info on Beverly Koogler maybe someone else out there will.
Take care, Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for your kind words. My brother's death is going to take me a while to deal with. I feel so guilty as I live 2500 miles away, & neither I nor anyone else was there to call 911 for him. Gary died only 6 weeks after my dad died here in El Paso, & I was still emotionally tied up with dad's death. Life is just really, really bizarre at times.
Anyway, I do have photos of 1912(?) flood, also of old Fairfield/Osborn. My maternal grandfather, Hillary Carpenter, was mayor of either Fairfield or Osborn, just don't remember which one. Another source of old photos, town info. is probably WSU Archives & Special Collections. Dawne Dewey is Department Head & a very nice, competent lady. I'm sure she would be more than happy to help you. (And I will send you my photos when I can locate them.)
Best regards, & again, thank you for such a great website. Charlene

Hi Jeff;
My compliments on all the hard work memorializing history of the Fairborn Fire Department. I recently had the pleasure of sharing the 1955 department photo with Lt. Bob Shadowens and Allan Routt. It's great to see the old photo's of our fathers at work!
I hope you can attend the April FFD reunion open house scheduled for April. I know I'll be there!
